Day 30: NaNoWriMo

I've said all I really had to say this month. Thirty blog posts. A post a day. What was I thinking when I decided to do this again?

Well, we're here, and I think you're really cool for being here right now.

I'm going to do my last day writing myself, and then take a mini-vacation from writing. Not too long, probably two or three days, and then back to action. Why? Because I enjoy writing and NaNoWriMo is the best boot camp around for writers. I get the same feeling right now as I do spending a weekend at a writing conference. I'm focused, I love thinking and acting on my interests, and my distractions are put to a minimum consumption. Actually I developed a new work-life balance during the month.

NaNoWriMo is usually home to a passion rejuvinating moment for me. A day where things become clear and I get excited and amped about my choices. This NaNoWriMo I had three separate moments.  It was a lot of fun and kind of addicting.

Final piece of advice from me for NaNoWriMo, don't stress. I hope that's been a month long lesson for most people, but please try not to stress over your hobby and passion. Take challenges as exciting opportunities to learn from. Empower yourself, don't disempower yourself. There are plenty of people who would love to do that to you already, so don't add yourself to their ranks.

There is enjoyment in adversity. I loved being tired alongside other people this month. We would get out of work and meet up to write from 6:30PM to 9:30PM for the majority of the week, four to six days. Are there haters to this sort of dedication? Absolutely, but my haters are my motivators. I have my words; they're no one else's.

Have fun everyone and take a much needed rest tomorrow.
