An Update, of a Sort

The past few days WordPress has been up, I've typed into a new Post, and hit delete. I haven't found anything to say, or better put, anything important to say at the moment. My website, my rules, it's my favorite thing to say about a blog. It's times like these I can use my own advice.

First order of business, all copies from my Goodreads Giveaway have been sent out. It was a harrowing experience, filled with many blunders and awkwardness as I mailed them out. The packing I bought at first didn't fit, whoops! It didn't help that they were being sent out on a Saturday, meaning all mail had to be in by 2:00 P.M. Safe to say, I ran that clock out. Luckily for me, a wonderful lady put up with my rookie behavior, and all eight copies were sent out on Saturday, December 21st. A little expensive, but worth it in the end.

The Goodreads Giveaway itself was an amazing accomplishment, with 901 people entering for a chance to win one of the eight copies. I never thought the number would reach that high, given the start it had. At 160, the number of people adding dropped dramatically, to the point of one or two entries a day. The feeling was, 500 tops, maybe a little less, like 440-450. At half a thousand it would have been all worth it. A great success for a new author. At nearly a thousand, I swooned.

Until January, I'll be in holiday mode, so that's it for writing advice. My articles as well as, Works to See, will be on hold, which works out, because most other writers are doing the same thing. I will be more active here, on Google Plus, and Twitter over the holidays. That's because I'll be sitting in front of the computer a lot more. It's time to grind.
