I don't think I'd ever call myself a big reader, but I used to read more than I do now. There were times where I read book after book, and I knew I had a higher comprehension for words and speed. Those times are not now, and reading is a skill; if you don't use it, you lose it.

As someone who is working on reading more, I know this is a process that takes time. Time is not something we have ample amount some days/weeks/months, so I decided to take a more proactive stance and read a book on speed reading.

Speed Reading For Beginners: Learn How To Read 300% Faster in Less Than 24 Hours (exhale), is one I picked up through Kindle Unlimited, which was quite a nice saving.

What I enjoyed about this book is that the author doesn't waste any time getting to the important material. The book is finished quickly, most likely a sitting or two. This isn't the type of book to read once, but to come back and be reminded about some of the habits while they are being formed. Even once a month would be a good refresher.

Lessons will focus on what is speed reading, how the eyes adjust to print, how a page can be read more efficiently, the different kinds of skimming, and the certain contexts where these skills should and should not be used. It's fairly comprehensive for the length it is.
