Break Over

Tofu

This Thanksgiving weekend was nice. There was good food, some of which is still around, and pleasant times with family and friends. Normally, I focus too much on work, it consumes me. I like what I do, whether it's writing, editing videos, or all the little things that go unmentioned, I like to be productive. The problem that creates is I let the good things pass me by.

I haven't watched movies in a long time, and this is a surprise to me, a guy who knows a thing or two about movies. A nice B-movie collection has been grown and cultivated in my house. If you look, The Puppet Master Collection is sandwiched between Oscar award winning titles. In an act to bring my normal life up to speed, I caught up on some movies!

The Hobbit was better than I expected, given my expectations were on the floor. There was no real good reason for that to be; Peter Jackson has proved himself in being a great director, so I chalk it up to being out of the loop on films. The movie does has a weak first hour, for casual viewers. If you're a Tolkien fan, it's more like a trip down memory lane with all the little touches.

I caught up on some video games on the tail end of the holiday. What should have been a single purchase for a video series, ended up being twenty-two purchases. I console myself by saying they were on sale, and a steal at their price. I don't enjoy a lot of games, which is different from not liking them. Some games I have to be in the mood for, same with books. I won't read epic fantasy if I don't feel like reading epic fantasy.

That is the breakdown of my Thanksgiving break. It's nothing fancy, but it was nice. Operations will resume, as usual, later this week.
