First of July

Camp NaNoWriMo

The first of July is here, and so is a new writing challenge. I went nearly the entire morning forgetting today is the first day. This is coming from somebody looking forward to it since April! Water under the bridge, I won't bring it up if you won't. The goal is simple, pick a word count and hit it. Bada bing, meet bada boom.

Last year I attempted November's writing challenge of 50,000 words. I didn't make it. Sadly more important aspects of life forced itself between writing and completion, but a month and a half later I finished the first draft of my novel. From that point on I've been having the learning experience of a lifetime of what working on a novel means. The writing is the easiest part.Revisions and editing, now that is tough.

This July I'm putting down a nice and modest 30,000 word goal. Enough to get the majority of the novel done, since I'm a very to the point writer, my first novel hovers around 55,000-60,000 words. I'll have ensured this project is a two month affair as well as finishing up these edits to my previous. What a nightmare. A late fall, early winter release is the dream.

If anyone out there is interested, let's do this business. Time is wasting and ideas need to be put down. All day, every day.
